Boat Computer firmware
======================

This zip file contains versions 1.2A and 1.2B of the Boat Computer firmware.

This is a small update on the original version (1.0 and 1.1). The only difference
that changes have been made to correct an intermittent problem when starting.

You should use the:

  - "Boat Computer V1.2A Update.hex" if you are using a paddle wheel flow
     sensor to measure fuel consumption.

  - Boat Computer V1.2B Update.hex" if you are using the fuel injector
     measuring method.

  - If you do not want to use the fuel consumption feature you can load
either version and ignore that screen or hide it by using the
    Show/Hide function.

Both files are UPDATES and can only be loaded over USB from your computer. The
microcontroller needs to be programmed first using a PIC programmer and the
kit supplier will have done this if your microcontroller came as part of a kit.

GPS Car Computer firmware
=========================

This zip file also contains versions 1.1 and 1.4 of the GPS Car Computer
firmware. These are included so that you can go back to the Car Computer
personality if you want to.

Version 1.1 is the original version of the firmware but in a form that can be
loaded via USB. It is included so that you can go back to the first version
if you need to.

Version 1.4 is the latest version of the firmware for the GPS Car Computer.
It is same as 1.1 but includes the powerup timer and brownup feature as well
as the ability to configure distance/speed as:
  - kilometres/kmh
  - nautical miles/knots
  - miles/mph

and altitude as:
  - metres
  - feet

To configure the distance/speed units press the SET button when you are
on the speed display. You can then select the units (kmh/knots/mph)
using the UP/DOWN buttons. Press SET a second time and you will get the
overspeed setting screen. Finally, pressing SET a third time will take you
back to the speed display. The distance to destination display will also
automatically adopt the same units.

You use a similar process to configure the altitude units. Press the SET
button when you are on the compass/altitude display and then select the
units (m/ft) - then press SET a second time to reach the compass/heading
setting.

Both files are UPDATES and can only be loaded over USB from your computer.
